During the month of October, RosaryMen will be focusing intentions on The Truth and those that preach it. What better way to honor our Holy Mother and The Rosary than by having a Dominican guest leader each week.
Father Luke Mary VanBerkum, O.P., grew up outside of Detroit, MI. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame in 2016, he entered the Dominican novitiate at St. Gertrude Priory. He was ordained a priest in 2022 in Washington, D.C., and then spent a year finishing a licentiate in sacred theology and gaining some pastoral experience, especially with the Latino community.
Fr. Isaiah Beiter grew up in a big family in Virginia. He joined the Dominicans in 2014, was ordained three years ago, and has spent the last few years as a chaplain at the Catholic Center at NYU.
Born in Berlin, NH, he entered the Dominican Order in 1985 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1991. He holds a doctorate in Church History, and has spent most of his priestly life teaching, both at Providence College and at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C. Immediately before coming to St. Gertrude, he served as President of the Pontifical Faculty at the Dominican House of Studies for seven years.
Sr. Maria Christi grew up in Madison, WI, the middle of 11 children of a strong Catholic family, now blessed with 60 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren…and counting! She entered the Dominican Sisters in August 2000, professing final vows in 2008. Sister has taught elementary and middle school grades for 20 years, grateful to serve on our missions since 2006, in AZ, FL, SC, TX and recently at our Peoria mission since 2013. She served as the principal of St. Jude Catholic School for 9 years and now is blessed to live at our Motherhouse in Ann Arbor and meet the many great friends of the Community who support our mission and our Sisters!
