Biography
Father Vinh Pham entered the Legionaries of Christ in 2009 at the age of 25. He served his two years of novitiate and one year of humanities in Cheshire, Connecticut. Following that, Father Vinh completed his three-year bachelors of philosophy program at the Legionaries of Christ’s Regina Apostolorum University in Rome, Italy. As a brother, his internship assignment was in Cincinnati, supporting the Legionaries of Christ youth programs.
After his two-year internship, Father Vinh returned to Rome to complete a three-year bachelors of theology program. In March 2019, he professed his final vows in Rome, and in 2020, he completed his studies and graduated from Regina Apostolorum. Upon completion of his formal formation, Father Vinh received his first ministerial assignment as auxiliary to the youth program in Washington, D.C.
That same summer, he was ordained to the diaconate in Rolling Prairie, Indiana. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Father Vinh was ordained to the priesthood in his home parish in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 29, 2021. He finished his three-year term in Washington, D.C., in 2023 and is currently the regional vocation director for the Legionaries of Christ in Cincinnati.
Father Vinh enjoys hobbies that include technology, computers, mechanics, sports and motorcycles. He finds relaxation in building and flying remote control planes and drones or tinkering with something mechanical. His family has a miraculous escape story from Vietnam, which has shaped the gratitude he has for his life and vocation. Neat fact: Within the first two years of being a priest, Father Vinh celebrated the marriage of four of his siblings. He now enjoys baptizing their flow of babies.
